Seed Selection
Puts the Right Seed in the Right Place
Seed Selection uses soil type data from each of your fields and fuses this information with your management practices to best fit
varieties to a particular field. The program allocates seeding rates per field and brings with it improved odds for better management by
simplifying the treatment of pests and diseases.
How it works:
Just like GPS soil sampling helps you decide where to spend your
fertilizer dollars… Seed Selection helps you decide where to spend your
seed dollars!
Step 1: Complete your Seed Selection Input Form describing
companies you prefer to buy from, your tillage and nitrogen practices,
along with your biotechnology preferences.
Step 2: Provide us with your field boundaries.
Step 3: We use field boundaries and your input to optimize yield for the
whole farm by distributing the best varieties across all of your acres. We
are able to project yield per soil type and response of each variety in
each soil type at each given seeding rate. All of this combines for a
complex cropping plan made simple.
Step 4: You receive a binder with estimated number of bags of each
variety, maps for seeding rates per field and other notes applicable to the
management of your crop.

How to use it:
Scenario 1: Use Seed Selection before purchasing seed. We can sort
through varieties between various companies and check performance in
replicated trials or on your particular farm. This approach maximizes
your ability to pick best varieties overall by employing a professional
third party beforehand.
Scenario 2: Use Seed Selection immediately after purchasing seed. We will
plug in the number of bags of each variety you have purchased and
allocate them according to your soil types for maximum potential yield.
Scenario 3: Use Seed Selection for your own creative solution! Example:
maybe you are trying to decide how many acres you want to sidedress…
what are the best varieties for this? What about fungicide?
Benefits of Seed Selection:
• More whole farm yield.
• Often less seed used on a whole farm basis.
• More yield, less seed, much lower cost per bushel.
• Simple.
• Easy to integrate into other services. Add variable rate seeding. Add GPS crop scouting. Add GPS soil sampling.
• And much more...
