Aerial Imaging Versus Ground Imaging

GreenSeeker mapping service simplifies observations

Instead of trusting an airplane to take imagery through clouds and turn around an image that is hard to correlate with your spatial data, consider deploying our NDVI sensor mapping service. With our Workflow Software we can efficiently route our staff to your fields at the proper growth stage and upload data to our servers which can be prepared into a custom prescription map for your controller to go to the field the very next day. That type of turn around and flexibility is far superior. Plus, we can run at night or on cloudy days whereas a plane can only go with suitable conditions.

As stand alone service some of our clients are using the NDVI sensor to map cover crops as well as their cash crops. With this information in hand it helps them understand the plant’s language, converting NDVI into biomass and nitrogen indexes that help describe problem areas for further scouting, amendment and alteration of seeding and nitrogen recommendations. In essence, these growers are getting more knowledge about that soil by observing the cover crop with our sensors.

When our NDVI sensor mapping service is combined with a few other key services you can build a comprehensive Nitrogen Solution. This sensor reading is used to adjust the recommendation to a final rate amongst a pre built set of parameters, or high and low range for each management zone in each field. By finessing the actual rate you get a spot on application with every last drop of information before you go to the field.

Certainly, some growers are demanding sensors mounted to their own toolbars. We are glad to assist in the management of these tools. However, our experience is that even the most savvy growers appreciate the confidence and reliability they get in knowing the per acre cost is outsourced and if the service is not delivered to their satisfaction then they don’t have to pay. This is the field we play in… helping deliver solutions to your farm and being outstanding in your field!

• Independent. We are not trying to move a particular product… not fertilizer, seed or even precision ag technology. This means, you don’t get pressure to buy the sensor, computer, GPS antenna, cables or whatever. We are here to meet your needs through on-farm services.

FAQ’s about ground sensing

• How many acres per day can you cover? Answer: We cannot cover as many as an airplane. We are inches above the crop, driving through the field… fast, but not airplane fast. We aim for applicator width matching swaths at 20 mph. You can figure how many acres per hour that is for your farm.

• What if I live far away? Answer: Give us a call. We have acre minimum per distance from other acre protocol that help us decide if it is worth a shot for us to earn your business. It might work. If not, we might give you some local ideas or perhaps we can help you get an AAS Dealer started in your area!

• Does it really have to be that complicated? Answer: No. You are free to blow on whatever amount of fertilizer you please. However, the best farmers out there are hammering out ways to improve efficiency of their most expensive inputs… and nitrogen is huge. Instead of you stumbling through years of trying to figure it out, simply call us and let us deliver a solution that meets your goals. We make it simple. Seriously, simple… but we want you to be comfortable knowing how it worked so you can help us improve.
